Omni-Man Vs. Bardock: Facts or Cap? - Part 1 (Intro + Weapons, Armor and Skills)

Image
The Future Isn't Yours  Disclaimer In conjuction with a more long-term project of mine, I'll be working on a side series: "Facts or Cap?". Basically, these are condensed versions of Slayed by Sunset™️examining past matchups on Death Battle (and maybe other vs shows). We'll be cutting out the thematics and story synopses (if you want those, just watch the episodes) and strictly see if the verdicts hold up. To be clear, this is not  focused on debunking the original episodes and their reasoning. I'm doing this to offer my own perspective first and foremost. I won't be talking about whether an episode's internal logic is right or not, but certain arguments made within will be addressed if deemed neccessary. Da Rules As a recap, here are my rules for Slayed by Sunset: 1. These fights won't necessarily be to-the-death. Aside from trying to win the fight, combatants will be entirely in-character . Thus, incapacitation is on-the-table as well (including ...

Ningen's Blog Without a Cause: Aang Vs. Traveler

Death Battle Prediction: Captain Planet's Matchups Go Down to Zero If Death Battle was based. (credit to IncinaNeverDies on DeviantArt) Is the Matchup Good? My thoughts on this matchup are kinda similar to Ichigo Vs. Yusuke; good in a vaccum, bad with context.  Like that one, the theme's both unique and solid. Sure, elemental matchups are pretty common, but they almost always center around one compared to many. It also presents more variety for the animation, which could have some really cool usage of the environment. Aside from the obvious 'multi-element main character' connection, both fighters also traveled the world to learn usage of different elements and got the Ash Williams treatment (well, alt-universe Ash, I guess). That adds a bit more depth to already decent theming. Problem is, aside from that last bit, everything I just said applies to Aang Vs. Edward Elric. You know, that matchup Death Battle already did? That could be forgiven assuming one or more of th...

Bonus Blog: Aang Vs. The Traveler - Preliminary Notes

Image
Aang (Seriously, what was G1 smoking?) Bending Reliant on surroundings and chi (fire only needs the latter) Comes from life energy; energybending subtracts it via soul-to-soul contact Strengthened with rage Aang has blocked Azula's blue fire, which should be at least 2,700 degrees Fahrenheit As the Avatar, he can bend multiple elements, including simultaneously Airbending Master airbender at age 12 Created multiple air scooters Can continously move through the air with gusts (screw Zaheer I guess) Creating an air bubble lets him safely stay underwater Amplified Kuzon's fire Can casually pull objects towards him and alter their trajectory; this should be reliant on Lifting Strength Multiple speed amps from the series and games; can be stacked Can cool down lava to harden it (???) Avatar State Kyoshi could fucking levitate like Appa apparently? Yangchen can pull Zaheer's Fatality, but on an entire area of people ; this also prevented combustionbending Waterbending Shouldn...

Slayed by Sunset: Homelander Vs. Makima - The Verdict

Image
Before the Verdict Homelander About Those Statements You probably knew about some already, and certainly read them in Homelander's Feats section. There are a variety of official claims regarding Homelander's stats that need to be addressed here, so let's go one-by-one. 1. Madelyn Stillwell - a Vought executive - says that every weapon on Earth has failed to kill Homelander The one most powerscalers have probably heard of at least once. Death Battle previously used it to say Homelander could survive the Tsar Bomba, placing him at City level+ in durability. Since we know Homelander's stronger than the select few characters who can hurt him, this would upscale his AP as well. On its own, there's really no support for Homelander being able to just face-tank any weapon on Earth. That's not even what Stillwell claims; she simply says they didn't work. Considering Homelander's superspeed, senses and flight, it's hard to imagine he'd just let somethin...
